BELGRADE - Seven aircraft from Serbia's agricultural aviation fleet are on their way to Greece, to help battle catastrophic fires there.

Agricultural Aviation of Serbia Director Slobodan Miškovic told Tanjug Tuesday that the planes have already reached Greece, which is facing the fifth day of wildfires that have so far killed 63 people.

Earlier, top officials pledged any assistance Serbia was capable of offering to help alleviate the dramatic situation in Greece.

President Boris Tadic yesterday instructed Serbian Army (VS) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Zdravko Ponoš to put specialized units on alert in case they are needed to assist the Greek Army battling fires and clearing out the debris.
